RTPatch/Telematics
High-end devices are defined by greater functionality. This means more code and more data... and more software updates. Changes due to security concerns, changed or new features and data changes such as those created by location-aware content changes - all present a significant increase in bandwidth usage, especially when hundreds-of-thousands or even millions of devices are in the field. Someone must pay for this increased bandwidth usage. The TOC is increased.
Instead of sending the whole thing over and over again; send only the byte-level changes. 90-99% reduction in update sizes are typical. Significant amounts of money are saved and the end-user enjoys up-to-date software through more timely and faster updates.
RTPatch/Telematics is an OEM component. It provides the byte-level differencing engine and patch application software. Source code is provided for the application software.
Its available under Windows, Windows Embedded, Linux and VxWorks.
